Just for Kids Child Advocacy Center provides a safe, child-focused environment where children who have experienced abuse can begin the path to healing. Serving Raleigh and Fayette Counties, we bring together forensic interviews, advocacy, medical and mental health services to support children and families during their most difficult moments.
A child advocacy center brings together child protection staff, law enforcement, medical professionals, and mental health clinicians under one roof. This coordinated response reduces trauma, improves stability during crises, and ensures children receive the support they need to feel safe and begin healing.
Children are welcomed into a calm, child-friendly space designed to reduce fear and trauma from the moment they arrive.
Families receive guidance, resources, and ongoing support tailored to their unique needs throughout the investigative and healing process.
Children and caregivers gain access to mental health services, therapy referrals, and long-term support to help move toward recovery.
Just for Kids coordinates the efforts of investigators, social workers, healthcare professionals, and mental health clinicians so each child receives the best possible care. Our multidisciplinary approach ensures that no child or family walks this journey alone.
Every child deserves to grow up feeling safe, valued, and protected. Unfortunately, there are individuals who intentionally build trust with children and families for the purpose of exploitation. This process is known as grooming, and it can happen in person or online. Understanding the warning signs and creating open communication can help prevent abuse before it occurs.
Groomers are often described as people of trust. They may be family members, friends, neighbors, coaches, teachers, faith leaders, childcare providers, or even someone your child meets through online games or social media. They are rarely strangers. Instead, they intentionally earn a child’s trust, and often the trust of the child’s family, before gradually crossing boundaries.
Today’s children connect with friends through online games, chat features, livestreams, and social media. While these platforms can be enjoyable, they also create opportunities for strangers, and sometimes people pretending to be children, to make contact.

Protecting children begins with awareness, open communication, and a commitment to creating environments where children feel safe to speak up. By staying informed, setting healthy boundaries, and maintaining ongoing conversations about personal safety, we can work together to reduce opportunities for abuse and empower children to seek help whenever something doesn’t feel right.
