The Just for Kids, Inc. Board and staff recognize the importance of creating a safe, welcoming environment where children and families can receive support while navigating difficult circumstances.
Trudy’s House of Hope was created to provide comfort, privacy, and care for children and families during some of the most challenging moments of their lives.
Named in honor of Trudy Laurendine, whose leadership and dedication helped shape child advocacy efforts across West Virginia, the home reflects her legacy of compassion, guidance, and commitment to protecting children.
Today, Trudy’s House of Hope serves as a child-focused space designed to support healing and reduce trauma for children and families. The home includes dedicated areas for forensic interviews, counseling services, family advocacy, and multidisciplinary coordination.
The property also includes peaceful outdoor spaces designed to provide moments of calm and comfort during difficult times. Every detail of the environment was created with children and families in mind.
